Middle and High School Student Minister


Position: Middle and High School Student Minister
Reports to: Lead Pastor | Status: Part-Time | FLSA: Non-Exempt
Primary Focus: Lead a dynamic faith formation ministry that encourages and fosters the spiritual, social, and personal development of middle and high school students, aligning with the church’s mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Organize and lead weekly confirmation programs and high school Bible studies.
  • Organize and lead annual youth events, including retreats and mission trips.
  • Foster deep, authentic relationships with teens.
  • Establish a safe, inclusive environment that encourages discussion and spiritual growth.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers conduct background checks and child abuse protection training for volunteers.
  • Coordinate activities/events with church staff; provide information of activities/events to church staff that will be included in church publications/website and maintain appropriate records and budget.
Qualifications:
  • Strong affinity for working with teenagers and an understanding of their developmental stages.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with coursework in elementary education or religious studies, preferred.
  • Experience in youth ministry or educational leadership, with proven leadership in managing spiritual or educational programs.
  • Vibrant sense of faith and active participation in the church.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, capable of fostering an environment that encourages sharing and spiritual growth.

Job Information:
  • Part-time, 15-20 hours/week (on average)
  • Compensation: $20/25per hour
  • Expected Start Date: March 1, 2025 (earlier start possible if the candidate is available)

Job Title: Children and Family Minister
Organize and lead weekly children’s programs on Sunday mornings.
Organize and lead special events such as Vacation Bible School and children’s Christmas Program.
Initiate, build, and maintain authentic relationships with families. Establish an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment; foster discipleship, encourage thinking and sharing.

Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for children’s programs, and conduct background checks and child abuse protection training for volunteers.
Coordinate activities/events with church staff; provide information of activities/events to church staff that will be included in church publications/website and maintain appropriate records and budget.

Qualifications:
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and an ability to relate well with children and their families.
  • Bachelor’s degree, with coursework in elementary education or religious studies, preferred.
  • Vibrant sense of faith and active participation in the church.
  • Experience in Christian education as a leader or volunteer in a
    church or similar setting. 
  • ​Other experience leading children’s educational programs in a school, camp, or related setting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Lead Worship Guitarist

Non-Exempt
Overview:
New Life Lutheran Church is seeking a skilled and passionate guitarist to join our worship team. The Lead Worship Guitarist will provide musical leadership during worship services, helping to create a meaningful and engaging worship experience, aligning with the church’s mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and practice weekly worship music, including hymns, songs, and special pieces.
• Actively participate in weekly rehearsals and collaborate with vocalists and the Worship Leader.
• Lead musically during services, supporting congregational worship and the service flow.
• Maintain personal instruments and gear in good working order.
• Foster a worshipful atmosphere and engage with the team in
spiritual preparation.
Compensation:
• $75 per service (logged electronically).
​Qualifications:
• Proficient guitar skills and experience in worship settings preferred.
• A heart for worship and alignment with New Life’s mission and values.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
