Rev. Nathan J. Liedtke
​Lead Pastor

Pastor Nate was called to serve as pastor of New Life in Jan. 2010.  He and his wife Kerrie have two children (Ben and Katie), and two dogs, and two cats.  Nate served Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin before accepting the call to serve at New Life.  He was born and raised in Wisconsin, and graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA before receiving his Master of Divinity from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA in 2006.  In addition to his call to ministry at New Life he serves as  chaplain for the Des Moines Fire Department & the Norwalk Fire Department.

Pastor Mike Foss
Mission Life Director

Michael W Foss, who recently retired from Senior Pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines has recently joined our staff as Mission Life Director. He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1970 with a B.A. in Religion. In 1974, he graduated with a Master of Divinity Degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary, in Dubuque, Iowa. In 1986, he received a Master's Degree in Theology and Spirituality from Mount Angel Benedictine Seminary in Mount Angel, Oregon. In 1999 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree by Wartburg Theological Seminary. Pastor Foss has served six congregations, varying in worship size with average attendance from 100 to 6500 people. Pastor Foss lives with his wife Christine in Norwalk, Iowa and enjoys golfing, outdoor sports, and his dog. He has two married daughters and four grandchildren.

Pastor Haley Schepers
​Director of Faith Formation

​Haley Schepers, a graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary serves as the Director of Faith Formation. Haley and her husband Ethan a Ph.D. student at Iowa State reside in West Des Moines. Haley worked as an Outreach Minister at Lutheran Church of Hope prior to her call to serve at New life. She was born in Grand Island Nebraska, and she followed in her parents’ footsteps and completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Nebraska in Marketing and Management. Her father played football for the University of Nebraska, and she is a proud Husker fan in Iowa/Iowa State territory. She is passionate about helping parents gain confidence in being part of their children’s faith journey and making the big themes and stories of the bible accessible to children in a fun way through discovery-based activities!

Sandy Anderson
Administrative Assistant

Sandy has served as the Administrative Assistant since the spring of 2013.  She coordinates the worship volunteers as well as all of our weekly and monthly publications; worship bulletins, New Life LINK,  and maintains the website.

Co- Custodian
Mike Geisler

Mike joined the staff as custodian for the months of April - September. Mike and Kristen have two children, Eli and Logan.  They live in Norwalk and are long-time members of New Life.  Mike is an Instruction Coach in the Carlisle School System.

Co- Custodian
Emily Blom

Emily has assumed custodial duties for the months of October - March.  She and her husband Dan have been members of New Life for several years.  They live in Norwalk with their two children, Marshall and Morgan live in Norwalk.  Emily also has her own interior design business, Picture Perfect Designs.

New Life is led by our Executive Committee and Church Council.
