The Christmas Cycle
This season celebrates Christ’s coming into the world and includes:
- Advent
- Four Sundays before Christmas, focused on hope, waiting, and preparation.
- Christmas
- A 12-day celebration of Jesus' birth, beginning December 25.
- Epiphany
- Observed on January 6, celebrating Christ’s revelation to the nations and his baptism.
The Easter Cycle
This season centers on Jesus' suffering, death, and resurrection:
- Lent
- Begins with Ash Wednesday and includes 40 days of prayer, repentance, and renewal.
- Holy Week
- Starts with Palm Sunday, continues through Maundy Thursday (Jesus' Last Supper), and Good Friday (his crucifixion).
- Easter
- Celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. This joyful season lasts 50 days and concludes with Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit empowers the Church.
Ordinary Time
The season after Pentecost is called Ordinary Time.
During this time, we focus on spiritual growth and ask:

- This journey continues until we return to Advent, beginning the cycle anew.
